The Restaurant

Art on the walls, yachts at the dock —
Modern Mexican-Med fusion since 1997.

La Galería Los Cabos has occupied its corner of the Plaza Bonita marina boardwalk since 1997 — one of the longest-running restaurants on the Cabo marina strip and still one of the most consistently praised. The open-air terrace looks directly out over the luxury yacht slips, live bands set up on the patio at sunset, and the walls rotate through large-canvas work from prominent Baja artists, hosting dedicated culinary art events throughout the season. The name is not decorative.

The kitchen runs a Modern Mexican and Mediterranean fusion menu anchored by its famous surf and turf — oversized filet mignon with fresh lobster tail and garlic prawns that reviewers consistently describe as the best value-to-portion combination on the marina. The tableside guacamole is made to your spice level in front of you. The dedicated vegan menu (eight to nine dishes, not an afterthought) with its Vegan Molcajete and Vegan Ceviche has become a genuine draw. The 2-for-1 happy hour from 4 to 6 PM is one of the better daily deals on the waterfront.

Why Do Locals Return to La Galería on the Marina Boardwalk?

La Galería has been on the Cabo San Lucas Marina boardwalk since 1997 — one of the oldest active restaurants on the strip. The tableside guacamole customized to your exact spice level and the 2-for-1 happy hour margaritas are the two most consistent reasons locals return.

The Menu

Surf & turf to vegan molcajete — what to order

Signature

Surf & Turf — Filet Mignon, Lobster Tail & Garlic Prawns

La Galería's most celebrated plate — oversized, generous combinations of perfectly cooked filet mignon alongside fresh lobster tail and garlic prawns. Consistently the most-praised dish by returning guests and the reason many come back.

Tableside

Tableside Guacamole — Made to Your Spice

Prepared from scratch directly at your table and custom-built to your exact spice preferences. A consistent highlight of the service experience and a strong opening to any meal on the marina patio.

Seafood

Grilled Octopus · Octopus Tostadas · Shrimp Ceviche · Lobster Pasta

The seafood program is a genuine strength — highly reviewed Grilled Octopus, fresh Octopus Tostadas, lime-cured Shrimp Ceviche, and lobster pastas that reflect the kitchen's Baja-Med approach to local catch.

Vegan

Dedicated Vegan Menu — Molcajete & Vegan Ceviche

Eight to nine fully animal-product-free options on a dedicated menu — the sizzling Vegan Molcajete and the Vegan Ceviche are the standout crowd favorites. One of the most thoughtful vegan programs on the Cabo marina.

Anglers

You Hook It, We Cook It

Bring in your morning sportfishing catch and the kitchen prepares it to order. A natural fit for the marina location — the same service that draws fishing groups to Captain Tony's a few slips over.

Art Nights

Rotating Baja Art Gallery & Culinary Events

True to its name, La Galería functions as a rotating art gallery — large canvas displays and murals from prominent Baja artists cycle through the walls, and the restaurant hosts specialized culinary art events throughout the season.

Before You Go

When to book, happy hour timing & the art walk

Walk-ins are handled smoothly during daytime hours. Evening dinner windows and weekends fill faster — reservations via OpenTable are the reliable move for prime sunset-facing patio tables. The 4–6 PM happy hour is worth building your schedule around if you're on the marina in the afternoon: 2-for-1 margaritas, beers, and select appetizers with a direct view of the yacht slips as the light drops.

La Galería's moderate pricing relative to its marina position makes it one of the better-value dinner options in the Plaza Bonita and Plaza Nautica strip. Reviewers frequently note that the surf and turf portions are substantially larger than what comparable price-point restaurants in the resort corridor offer. For vegan travelers in a group of mixed diets, it's one of the few marina restaurants where the vegan program is built with the same seriousness as the main menu.
