The Farm
Baja's original farm-to-table —
grown here, cooked here, served here.
Flora Farms is a 25-acre organic working farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains above San José del Cabo — the property that pioneered Baja California's farm-to-table movement and established it on the world stage. Every ingredient served at Flora's Field Kitchen either grows on the 25 acres you're sitting in, or comes from the family's 150-acre nearby ranch. Nothing is imported, nothing is out of season, and the menu changes daily to reflect what was harvested that morning.
It's far more than a restaurant. The property includes boutique shops, a farm spa, luxury overnight residences, guided walking tours, a kids' playground, and a Farm Bar that produces some of the most precise fresh-ingredient cocktails in Baja. Arrive early — there is genuinely a full afternoon of things to do before dinner. Note that the final mile of the approach road is unpaved — drive slowly or arrange private transport.
What's Here
The restaurant, bar, farm & everything else
Flora's Field Kitchen
Open-air barn-like dining room serving rustic international and country-style cuisine. The menu changes daily based on what's growing — freshly picked produce, wood-fired pizzas, and hormone-free meats from the family's 150-acre nearby ranch.
Fennel Sausage Pizza
One of the kitchen's most-requested wood-fired pizzas — fennel sausage sourced from the ranch, blistered crust from the on-site wood-fired oven, with toppings that change slightly with the season.
Farm Bar — Mezcal Bloody Mary & Pelo de Perro
The Farm Bar is renowned for precise cocktails built from fresh farm produce — muddled herbs, freshly pressed juices, and house-made infusions. The Mezcal Bloody Mary is the signature. The Pelo de Perro is exclusive to Sunday brunch.
Live Acoustic Band, Donut Bar & Brunch Spread
The most sought-after reservation on the property — a weekly Sunday event with a live acoustic band, house-made donut bar, and an extensive brunch spread. Slots fill weeks to months in advance.
Free Guided Farm Walking Tours
Educational walking tours covering the history of the property, organic farming techniques, and the evolution of the Baja farm-to-table movement. Free for guests — arrive 30–45 minutes before your reservation.
The Shoppes at Flora Farms
On-site collection of upscale boutiques selling local organic groceries, handmade pottery, artisanal jewelry, and natural skincare products — a meaningful extension of the farm's ethos beyond the dining room.
Playground, Turtle Pond & Youth Art Workshops
Genuinely kid-friendly with an on-site playground, a turtle and fish pond, and seasonal youth art workshops. One of the most family-appropriate fine dining destinations in Los Cabos.
Farm Spa, Culinary Cottages & Straw-Bale Haylofts
The Farm Spa offers luxury nature-inspired wellness treatments on the property. The Culinary Cottages and straw-bale Hayloft residences allow guests to extend their stay and live the farm experience overnight.
What Is Flora Farms and Why Is It a Must-Visit?
Flora Farms is a 25-acre organic working farm in the Sierra de la Laguna foothills above San José del Cabo — the original Baja farm-to-table restaurant, operating since 1996 before the concept had a name. The menu changes with what's harvested each week.
Getting There & Planning
What you need to know before you go
Flora Farms is about 10 minutes outside downtown San José del Cabo — but the final mile of the approach is a notoriously bumpy unpaved dirt road through a dry arroyo. Drive slowly, or arrange a private shuttle or taxi that knows the route. From Cabo San Lucas, budget 35–40 minutes. Reservations are mandatory via SevenRooms or OpenTable and fill fast — particularly Sunday brunch, which often books out weeks ahead.
Plan to arrive at least 30–45 minutes before your reservation slot. The farm tour, boutiques, and Farm Bar are all best experienced before the main dining service. The Sunday Pero de Perro cocktail — exclusive to brunch — is worth planning around if you're visiting mid-week.
